Overview:
We are getting
less performance with our setup. We were using windows 2003, 32 bit Server
edition, with 32 bit java. We are not able to allocate high heap for JVM.
SGA Trace/Optimization
The SGA Trace/Optimization window
displays SGA information for you so that you can easily optimize your database.
You can view information, utilize
client-side filtering of the grid, and check session currently executing the
selected query.
AWR Report
The automatic workload repository is a new performance statistics
gathering and reporting utility introduced in Oracle 10g. AWR is similar to
Statspack with improved functionalities and features. It can be called as the
next generation of Statspack. Oracle documentation recommends the use of AWR
over Statspack even though statspack is still functional on 10g databases.
Performance and Systems
Performance is an important
aspect of any system. This is an essential characteristic of a system which signifies
its behavior under particular usage circumstances. Depending upon the system,
KPI to measure performance gets change. From mileage of an automobile engine to
the grade of a student is a one or other form of performance KPIs. Performance
of a system seriously impacts the usability of that system. Software systems
including web applications are no exceptions in this. Hence, this is considered
as a major important non functional requirement of any web application.
